In wordpress you need to buy a hosting plan, where you need to spend good amount of money to launch your website.

If you were to compare the cost of unlimited hosting space elsewhere, you’d be surprised at how expensive it can get. If you’re new to blogging and want to start without a significant financial investment, Blogger is the ideal choice. This doesn’t mean I’m suggesting you leave Blogger once you become an experienced blogger. In fact, we continue to use the Blogger platform ourselves.

Blogger, a product by Google, is built using the Python programming language. As you may be aware, Python is renowned for its flexibility and scalability, surpassing languages like PHP and .NET in these aspects. Consequently, the future of Blogger’s development, which includes enhancements, upgrades, and integrations, appears promising and poised for long-term stability. Additionally, hosting websites with Python can be costly, but Blogger generously provides this service to users for free. It’s truly remarkable when you consider the value this brings.

Experienced blog owners often face the challenge of dealing with hacking attempts. However, Blogger, being under Google’s full control, offers its users peace of mind by managing server resources, content security, and backups. Regarding permalinks, blogger has one disadvantage like the blog post URL will insert the date of blog post. For example, if you write a blog post today on seo, the url will like “https://www.example.com/5/2023/seo”. You can share and post this URL and even will rank in search engines as well. But, if you edit it next month and add some updates related to SEO, the permalink or URL will change to that date like “https://www.example.com/6/2023/seo. This create issue with the original URL link which was already shared previously, and if you click that link now if will show a dead or blank page. This is a big issue with blogger for permalink settings. The permalinks should be only based on post name and should not include the date.

Blog on blogger.com without custom domain will have blogspot.com as an extension. You will need to buy a custom domain to remove the blogspot.com from your domain name. This is same in wordpress as well.

Regarding authority and ranking, blogs on blogger need to have lot of good and unique content. Then only it can perform and rank well in search engines.

Plugins you won’t get in blogger which does around 90% of the work for running a blog. In wordpress, plugins play an important rank for ranking a blog. That is why 90% of blogger are having their blog on wordpress platform.

WordPress Advantages and Disadvantages

Frankly speaking compared to blogger, there are no disadvantages in wordpress platform. The main advantage of wordpress, which takes care most of the things, is PLUGINS.

Yes, plugins helps in running your blog smoothly and efficiently in wordpress. For SEO, website speed, images, errors etc. everything can be managed by just installing the required plugin.

There are tons of SEO friendly free and paid themes. These themes really plays an important role in ranking the website in first page of search engine.

Permalinks settings can be changed on post-name. This way your URL of blog post will be same even if you change them any time in future. This is very important because we can update our old blog post without changing the URL. Thus, it helps in keeping your URL same every time.

WordPress blog have great potential to rank in authority as well if you have valuable content in your blog. Great content, theme and good hosting provider, your blog can rank higher easily and faster. You will also need to be consistent with your blog post initially.

Consistency is the key here in blogging. Some blogger quit when they see no traffic coming to their blog even after months.
